The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently published a notice in the Federal Register on changes to the H-1B registration process for Fiscal Year 2021.
During the initial registration period from March 1 through March 20, 2020, employers seeking to file H-1B cap-subject petitions must first register electronically with USCIS and pay the H-1B registration fee before being eligible to file an H-1B petition for Fiscal Year 2021. After the registration period closes, USCIS will conduct a random selection of registered applicants and petitioners selected will be able to file an H-1B cap-subject petition for those selected registrations.
USCIS plans to conduct outreach activities to help familiarize users with the new electronic registration process. Additional information on the H-1B process is available here.
