In 2018, fashion policy counsel Kenya Wiley penned an op-ed for WWD on the lack of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) for fashion’s behind-the-scenes positions and solutions for change—followed by additional recommendations and a feature article in the Four Seasons Magazine. We’re glad to see more executives and government officials now discussing the importance of racial and cultural equity and steps for action—particularly for C-suite and board of directors positions. It is our hope that more brands and retailers will seriously address racial equity within their organizations and communities, and not limit their efforts to just one month or a particular crisis.

As we close out Black History Month, we’re re-sharing Kenya’s op-ed on DEI for decision-making roles and positions of power in fashion. Read the full op-ed here.
